Center for Epidemiology and Screening

The key role that screening can play in population health, and the special requirements it poses for epidemiological analysis, are behind the establishment of the Centre for Epidemiology and Screening.

The Centre seeks to provide a comprehensive framework for making decisions about screening possibilities. We work within current scientific paradigms, which enables our research to appear in international publications. Since the Centre needs external funding to conduct its research, we are obligated to target the screening of certain diseases. Our main focus is on breast cancer and cervical cancer.

Centre staff members teach epidemiology in all relevant programmes, including the MSc in Medicine, the MSc in Human Biology, the MSc in Public Health, the MPH and the Master of International Health programmes, as well as various PhD studies.
