PhD Student

My scientific main interest is within the mental research field, and how stressors can affect individuals' health status.

I have performed a qualitative bachelor project about child neglect of children with mentally traumatized parents, where my aim was to investigate secondary traumatization in children and how this could be prevented. In my master's thesis, I applied statistical methods to investigate whether post-traumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms differed dependent on socioeconomic background, when being exposed to wokrplace bullying.

The prevalence of dementia is rising dramatically and has severe consequences for both society and patients. However, the current knowledge of the midlife causes of dementia is sparse. Therefore, in my PhD project, I am investigating whether stress reactivity can increase the risk of developing dementia later in life.
