In my PhD project "Dårekister: Management of Individual Confinement" (commenced February 2022, tentative title) I examine how church institutions and local parish pastors took part in managing mentally afflicted people in Denmark, starting with the Church Ritual of 1685 and continuing until the late 18th century.
The PhD project is part of the project Managing Melancholy at the Faculty of Theology's Church History Section.
I am mainly interested in Danish church history, especially from the 17th to the 19th century, as well as history of medicine and history of psychiatry.
