Guest Researcher

I am an interdisciplinary conservation geographer with training in conservation and land system science, as well as natural resource economics. My expertise involes combining geospatial analysis and modeling (e.g. GIS, remote sensing, and ecological modeling) with rigorous causal inference in econometrics (e.g. statistical matching, DID, and regression discontinuity design) to better understand coupled human-nature systems at the nexus of ecological conservation, land use change, and human well-being. My ongoing research revolves around the following key areas:

• Evaluating the impacts of conservation/development initiatives
• Spatial prioritization in systematic conservation planning
• Social-ecological consequences of land use/land cover change

Primary fields of research

social-ecological system; land use/land cover change; ecosystem service; biodiversity conservation; protected area; human well-being
