I am trained as a historian of Britain and Empire, with a focus on trans-imperial interactions in the Caribbean and Atlantic World, particularly between England and France and their subjects. At In the Same Sea, I am in charge of Enslaved Mobility and the managing of our Runaway Slave Database, which uses runaway advertisements in Caribbean Newspapers to track runaway events in the Lesser Antilles. I am interested in all kinds of movement more broadly within and between islands.

I finished my PhD in 2021 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a dissertation focusing on the transition to British rule after the Seven Years' War in the formerly Neutral and French islands of Grenada, St. Vincent, Dominica, and Tobago. I am currently working on my book manuscript, tentatively titled. Precarious Possession: Race, Law, and Governance in the Revolutionary Caribbean.
