Associate Professor

Research profile:

My research interest is how plant anatomy is integrated with a wide variety of other disciplines such as wood and fiber products, food and feed structures and enzymatically degraded plant material. I also work with microscope techniques for imaging of plant vascular biology (hydraulic conductivity in tree species, phloem loading mechanisms and graft union formation in fruit trees). A recent line of research is on visualization of nano-sized structures and development of methods for studying uptake and intercellular transport of nano-particles in plants. Techniques include confocal-, fluorescence-, light- and electron microscopy, laser capture microdissection, immunohistology and image analysis.

Fields of interest

Plant structure, function and development, algae and microorganism, microscope techniques.
