My research focuses on the intersection of public health and organisations. In other words, how is prevention translated in the different aspects of the health system and what are the organizational consequences of this?

Current research

My current project examines physician decision making when discontinuing medication in general practice, using the case of statins (a type of ‘preventive’ medication). Specifically I look at the decision making process of GPs by investigating what kinds of cues prompt the GP to think about discontinuation, and what makes them initiate discontinuation.

More broadly speaking I am interested in health service research, including quality, coordination of care and economics. And the areas of public health I’m most interested in are healthy ageing, mental well being and healthy cities.
