Child marriage as a population health and human rights concern

We are pleased to invite you to a special talk by visiting Associate Professor Alissa Koski, from McGill University in Montreal. Associate Professor Koski studies how social forces affect population health. Her recent work focuses on highly gendered exposures, such as child marriage and early pregnancy, and utilizes analytic methods from epidemiology, law, and ethics.

As a visiting researcher, Alissa is keen to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest with faculty at the Department of Public Health. This talk will present an overview of several ongoing projects and is intended as both introduction and invitation to further conversation. Projects to be presented in brief include recent research on child marriage practices in North America, an intervention study in Nigeria, and theoretical work on the use of age thresholds in law.

No registration required.

We look forward to your participation.
