Talk by Maya Petersen
Professor Maya Petersen, UC Berkeley, will give a talk at the Department on May 20th. The talk introduces some of the methods developed by Prof. Petersen and her group at Berkeley and demonstrates why such novel methods were required to optimize as well as evaluate HIV interventions in East Africa. The methods developed by Prof. Petersen allow keeping the scientific question front and center while simultaneously enabling advanced data analytics to extract the most information from a given data set. The talk is open for all - and aimed at all –interested in cutting edge quantitative methods. Prior knowledge on causal inference or targeted learning is not assumed.
