We will do our very best to do the matching based on the information you will provide below. Please note that you are not guaranteed a mentor by applying to the programme. It is likely we have more mentees than mentors and first priority are given to mentees that did not get a mentor last year.

  1. Senior Advisor, Capacity Development, University of Copenhagen
    Development and management of projects, campaigns, courses and more. Over the years I have worked in the fields of research, education, development cooperation, humanitarian assistance, cultural events and exchange.  Worked in and collaborated with NGOs, UN agencies, public sector partners, media, education and culture institutions, private sector partners in Denmark and across the world. Global health interests: Connecting ideas and people across sectors, cultures, generations, and disciplines, developing and testing new concepts and approaches, communication assignments, skills and capacity development, engaging in multicultural and multidisciplinary projects and partnerships
  2. PostDoc, Bandim Health Project / University of Southern Denmark
    I have a diverse educational and professional background in Business Sciences, Public Health and Global Health. I worked for 10+ years in private industry before shifting my career path to Global Health. As a PostDoc, I am currently working on the evaluation of maternal and child health policies in rural Guinea-Bissau. In my PhD, I worked on the evaluation of a large-scale health systems strengthening initiative for maternal and child health. Global health interests: Health policy and systems research, systems thinking, health systems strengthening, health financing, maternal and child health
  3. Planning and Monitoring Officer, UNICEF
    After graduating from a BA in Global Health Nutrition and a MSc in Global Health, I started my career in Cambodia, where I supported UNICEF office on: leading few studies and evidence generation exercises, evidence dissemination and use for decision making, and developing of nutrition specific and sensitive policy and strategies.  Since early 2024, I started as Planning and Monitoring officer for UNICEF Romania where I am contributing to overall programme (development and emergency) planning, monitoring and reporting. Global health interests: Public Health Nutrition, Early childhood nutrition, Evidence generation for decision making, Public policies on nutrition and health,
  4. Project Manager, Capacity Development and Engagement, International AIDS Society
    During my bachelor's degree I completed various internships and research assistant positions. These included conducting literature reviews on determinants of health services uptakes in Georgia, assisting in the writing of national strategic plans against TB in Kenya and Myanmar. Following that, I took two gap years to be a teacher in Cambodia and just prior to finishing the master I relocated to Geneva for an internship at the International AIDS Society where I am currently still working where I oversee the running and strategic direction of two capacity-building programmes for HIV physicians across three continents. I am also responsible for coordinating and organizing short trainings and conference sessions around HIV cure research. In my role I have led and organized events in Australia, Canada, Germany, Rwanda, South Africa and Zambia. Global health interests: HIV, rights of sexual minorities, especially LGBTQ+ community in context where it is criminalised, capacity-development and health advocacy.
  5. Project Manager, Aqoola A/S
    I worked briefly at WHO in the UN City and in a CRO as a Junior Programmer doing QA/QC tasks. In addition, I have worked in a Community Health Center as a Health consultant. Global health interests: Health and population data and Health Politics

    Shorter assignments with NGOs/UN before going into academia. Global health interests: Global mental health, suicide and self-harm, wellbeing of health care providers
  7. Associate Professor, University of Copenhagen
    UN system, UNFPA Namibia 1994 - 1997, PhD student 1997 - 2005, Assistant and Associate Prof from 2007 – now. Global health interests: Global health, anthropology, reproductive health, antibiotic prescription and use, gender climate change adaptation, rural livelihoods in African settings
  8. External Lecturer, University of Copenhagen
    I did my masters and PhD in global health at UCPH with research in low income settings. From  2007-2015 I was a full time faculty staff as post doc and assistant profesor and was involved in many different research projects in Asia and Africa, mainly within the field of environmental health, including WAS. I have supported, facilitated and supervised BA, Master and Phd students through these research projects. From 2015 I have been a part time lecturer at the global health section. I mainly supervise thesis students and teach a few classes in qualitative health research, resilience and WASH. recently I have re-entered the research scene and is now supporting research in NGOs on WASH and climate change in Togo and Kenya. I have several other part time jobs including being a licensed private hypno-therapist and a coach (fag støtte lærer) for UCPH students with difficulties within public and global health. Overall. I am genuinely interested in nurturing students mental health and well-being. Global health interests: Environmental health, global mental health and qualitative research
  9. Associate Professor, University of Copenhagen
    40+ years of experience as researcher, educator, consultant in global environmental health - main focus on vector-borne disease epidemiology and control, climate change and health and planetary health. Former Head of WHO Collaborating Centre on Health and Environment in Sustainable Development. Global health interests: Planetary health including climate change and health, vector-borne disease control, environmental health.
  10. Programme Officer, UNICEF

  11. Data Employee, Endocrinology Department, Bispebjerg Hospital
    After graduating in 2023, I started working at a nursing home in Frederiksberg, before finding my current position in april of 2024. Global health interests: public health communication, equitable access to healthcare, healthcare innovation, migrant health, digital health
  12. Postdoctoral Fellow, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health
    10+ years conducting mixed-methods research in emergencies in multiple conflict-affected countries including Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, and South Sudan, among others as part of both academic institutions (Johns Hopkins University; University of Oxford; George Washington University) and international nong-governmental organizations (International Rescue Committee; CARE). Global health interest: I specialize in implementation science for interventions to prevent violence and promote mental health in conflict-affected and marginalized populations. My work includes mixed-methods evaluation of humanitarian interventions, human-centered design, collaboration with affected populations and providers, and translating findings into action for policy and programming.

  14. Postdoc, University of Copenhagen
    With over ten years of experience in community mental health research, I have primarily worked in low- and middle-income settings. My research has focused on designing, adapting, and integrating mental health interventions into fragile health systems. During my master’s and PhD studies, I concentrated on creating strategies to promote maternal mental health and training non-specialists to deliver psychological interventions for maternal depression. Over time, I have developed a strong interest in understanding the social determinants of mental health. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher, I am investigating approaches to enhance the equity of mental health interventions in European contexts. My expertise lies in qualitative research, although I also have experience conducting mixed-methods studies. Global health interests: Mental health; prevention and promotion; complex intervention; social justice
  15. Consultant, World Health Organization
    I have been working as a full-time consultant in alcohol data and policy for the Department of Mental Health, Brain Health and Substance Use at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to the consultancy position, I was an intern within the same department. I also worked as a part-time student tutor/trainer at my first alma mater, Maastricht University, while studying there myself. Moreover, I volunteered at the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases in London for five months. Global health interests: Non-communicable disease prevention, care and control in both urban and rural settings, as well as mental health, and sexual and reproductive health and rights, and maternal health.
  16. Consultant for mental health NGO, therapist, Common Threads Program
    Previously: UNICEF mental health researcher (various roles), Johns Hopkins University (research program coordinator/ researcher- Nepal based), clinical work with adolescents in schools and with refugees. Global health interests: Global mental health.
  17. Public Sector Consultant, Gesellschaft für Verwaltungsberatung
    My current job is my first full-time job after graduating from KU in April 2023. In my current role I manage and execute organizational diagnostics and development projects for local public sector institutions all across Germany. The projects I have been involved in so far have focused on crisis management and leadership, process optimization, digitalization, organizational restructuring, and generally future-proofing the German public sector. While I have worked with actors in the German health care sectors, my work does not explicitly focus on public or global health. During my studies I was associated with two different research programs as an intern and as a research assistant. I have also gained some experience in development cooperation as an intern at GIZ in Germany, where I focused on knowledge management and organizational learning. Global health interests: European crisis and disaster risk governance, societal resilience, crisis leadership and communication
