Strengthening collaboration with PEP partners in India

The PEP partnership aims to strengthen the capacity of educational institutions’ capacity to train nurses and other health professionals.

In total, the PEP-UCPH team visited three PEP partners: the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) at the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar; the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS); and Christian Medical College, Vellore (CMC).The team had busy schedule throughout the visit, delivering and participating in workshops; exchanging teaching experiences; participating in planning meetings; and providing feedback on digital and blended learning materials and approaches. The visit demonstrated strong engagement and collaboration across the PEP partnership. Workshops received positive feedback from participants, with interactive formats such as role play, group discussions, and live polls seen as effective for participation and dialogue. Participants also welcomed practical examples and tools, including discussions on the use of AI and digital approaches in teaching.

Planning meetings were highly constructive and helped both align expectations between partners and plan for future activities in the partnership. These discussions highlighted the importance of co-designing training and workshops with partners, ensuring that activities reflect local contexts and institutional needs.

A UCPH delegation with members from the Centre for Online and Blended Learning and Department of Public Health also participated in an international conference hosted by Christian Medical College, Vellore. The conference focused on bridging the gap between health professions education and clinical practice, providing a space for critical reflection and experience exchange across different contexts.

Overall, the visit strengthened relationships between Danish and Indian partners in the PEP partnership, supporting knowledge sharing across institutions and providing valuable insights that will help shape future activities in the collaboration to strengthen health professions education.
